Every instrument that comes through the door gets the attention it deserves. I work on guitars, mandolins, banjos, ukuleles, and all manner of fretted stringed instruments — approaching each one with close attention to its age, character, and condition.

As a player myself, I understand what it means to rely on an instrument. My goal is always to preserve what makes it sound and play the way it should — nothing more, nothing less.

Before any work begins, I'll assess the instrument properly and walk you through exactly what I'd recommend. Final pricing is confirmed once I've had a chance to inspect it in person.

Basic Service - £120

A thorough, comprehensive service covering everything your instrument needs to play and feel its best — not a quick once-over, but a careful assessment and adjustment of every element that affects playability and tone.

Included:

  • Complete setup without fretwork

  • Truss rod adjustment

  • Action setting

  • Fingerboard cleaning and oiling

  • (+£25 for Floyd Rose equipped guitars or 12-string guitars)

Intermediate Service - £220

For instruments whose frets have seen some wear, this service goes beyond a standard setup to restore playability and feel. The result is a guitar that not only plays correctly but feels noticeably smoother and more comfortable under the hands.

Included:

  • Basic Service plus

  • Full fret dress

  • Frets levelled, recrowned, mirror polished

  • Fret ends smoothed for comfort and playability

Advanced Service - £320

When frets are too worn to dress, a full refret is the only way to restore an instrument to its best. This is the most comprehensive service offered — combining a complete refret with the full Intermediate Service for an instrument that plays, feels and sounds as good as it possibly can.

Included:

  • Complete refret including fingerboard levelling

  • Full Intermediate Service

  • Option to change gauge of fret wire

  • (+£40 for bound fingerboards)

  • New Bone Nut – £75 (handmade bone nut)

  • New Bone Saddle – £75 (handmade bone saddle)

  • Headstock repairs – from £75

  • Body crack repairs – from £75

  • Strap button repair – £45 (includes strap button cost. £60 for two)

  • Pickup installation – from £75

  • Rewiring – £60 (rewiring of small components, does not include cost of replacement parts)
